Here is the story of Precision Painting and Construction and it's owner, David C. Bishop.  Welcome to our Bio page.

  Bio

   David C. Bishop has over 27 years of experience, and has completed literally hundreds of projects in that time.  David, originally from northern New Jersey, spent his first three years as an apprentice on a painting crew in his hometown.  He soon realized how much he enjoyed his trade and noticed he acquired a precise eye for detail.

   He went on to work for himself as demand for his personal touch grew.  David quickly acquired a full roster of repeat clients who desired the finest painter for their homes.

    In 1999, David moved to Hawaii and founded Precise Painting and Construction.  Soon after settling on Maui he acquired his contractor's license and quickly built up his reputation around the islands as a detailed painter as well as an outstanding tradesman.  He assembled a  skilled crew and found himself, once again, in high demand simply by word of mouth from his satisfied costumers.

    With a long-standing desire to experience the Caribbean, David moved to the United States Virgin Islands in 2006.                                                           

   He quickly settled on St. John and founded  Precision Painting from his very first days on island.  While in the Caribbean, David completed projects for countless properties on St. John and St. Thomas.  His work was featured in Architectural Digest and it did not take long for him and his crew to establish themselves as an outstanding team.

In 2009, with a short-standing desire to return to Hawaii, David relocated back to Maui, reactivated his contractors license and renamed  the business,  

 Throughout the last 10 years David has noticed a weak standard of professionalism among the islands contractors.  He figured out quickly that word of mouth spreads quicker on an island than on the mainland and utilized the "coconut wireless" to his advantage.  David has proven himself to be a reliable contractor throughout the Caribbean and the Pacific.  After moving to Maui he noticed that when the swells came in,  the surfers would often blow off work to enjoy their passion.  For the time being, there is no need to be concerned...                        "I don't surf"

  He noticed many other contractors would often fall short on their promises, and proved themselves to be irresponsible and unreliable.  When asked, "What makes you a good painter?" David would laugh and say,  "I show up"
